KADN Kiosk - Protest and Celebration

LONDON, ENGLAND.- Camden Arts Centre is collaborating with artists Abigail Hunt and Kieren Reed to bring the tour of their mobile KADN Kiosk to the streets - encouraging the public to get active, get artistic and get protesting. Continuing the theme of political unrest and social change in Argentinean artist Victor Grippo’s work (Grippo, 1936-2002, is currently exhibiting at Camden Arts Centre), the kiosk will take up position at Speakers Corner amongst other London landmarks before becoming resident at Camden Arts Centre during the holiday period.

The KADN Kiosk creates a workshop space for making protest equipment and artworks - anyone can make a piece and the resulting works will be collected in a public exhibition at Camden Arts Centre. You are invited to express your opinion making placards, rosettes, badges, banners, wristbands and flags.

“Seeing the recent consumerism of charitable paraphernalia and politicising of younger people mainly through media hype, we became interested in mass movements and expressions of democracy. The KADN Kiosk is a way of returning to a form of individual expression.” Abigail Hunt and Kieren Reed

From 12 December the mobile kiosk will be touring to different local venues: British Library: Tuesday 12, Wednesday 13 and Thursday 14 December. Speakers Corner: Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 December. Swiss Cottage Library: Monday 18, Tuesday 19, Wednesday 20 and Thursday 21 December

During the final week of the year, from Wednesday 27 to Saturday 30 December, the Kiosk will be at Camden Arts Centre, part of the In With the New season of holiday events and activities. Each day from 2.00-4.00pm visitors can create their own expressions of protest for an exhibition - the full display will be revealed on Saturday 30 December from 4.00-6.00pm.
