VERO BEACH, FLA.- At the annual meeting of its Board of Trustees, the Vero Beach Museum of Art welcomed two new trustees and unanimously elected Richard D. Segal as Chair of the Board. Mr. Segal, a finance and real estate executive and founder and former CEO of Seavest Inc., has served on the boards of several public and private companies. He is a former Trustee of the Whitney Museum of Art, where he also served as Treasurer, and the New York Academy of Art. He is a Life Trustee of New York Presbyterian Hospital.

Mr. Segal is joined on the Museum’s Executive Committee by James C. Penrose, Vice Chair; Michael Hoben, Treasurer and Finance Committee Chair; and Cathy E. Minehan, Secretary and Governance Committee Chair.

Joining VBMA for their inaugural term are Dennis Ferro, retired President and CEO of Evergreen Investments, an online affiliate of Wachovia Bank, and Nancy A. Kingsbury, a community volunteer, education advocate, and philanthropist.

“As the Vero Beach Museum of Art enters its 40th year, we do so with a bold vision for the future—driven by the passion, insight, and unwavering support of our extraordinary Board of Trustees,” declares Executive Director Brady Roberts. “The breadth and depth of this visionary governing body is nothing less than exceptional, positioning the Museum and our community for an increasingly bright future.”

Vero Beach Museum of Art extends its gratitude to its returning Trustees and to Victoria Aspbury, who concluded her second term at the end of the last fiscal year.

The Vero Beach Museum of Art is one of Florida’s leading visual arts institutions and one of the nation’s best-attended small museums, as distinguished in March 2025 research by Remuseum. The Museum will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2026. In 2027, it will open a new facility, doubling its gallery space and providing new venues for its innovative arts education and community access programming.
