BEACHWOOD, OHIO.- The Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage opened the exhibit Threads of Remembrance: Artistic Visions of the Holocaust - Holocaust Wall Hangings by Judith Weinshall Liberman with Portraits by Herbert Ascherman, Jr. The exhibit is a stirring and visually powerful exhibition that addresses the horrors of the Holocaust as seen through the eyes of survivors and their families. The exhibition dramatically displays 45 of Judith Weinshall Liberman's intricate and beautiful fabric wall hangings depicting the Holocaust.

The exhibition also features 50 Faces, a photographic documentary by Herbert Ascherman, Jr. 50 Faces captures the faces and stories of 50 Northeast Ohio Holocaust survivors, POWs and concentration camp liberators.

Since the early 1960s, she has created numerous pieces of art focusing on her ideas and feelings about the human condition. The exhibition also features 50 Faces, a photographic documentary by Herbert Ascherman, Jr. 50

Faces captures the faces and stories of 50 Northeast Ohio Holocaust survivors, POWs and concentration camp liberators. “This is not only an exhibition for the community – it is an exhibition about our community,” said Milton Maltz, founder, Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage. “The art both humanizes and localizes the impact of the Holocaust on people today.”

Threads of Remembrance: Artistic Visions of the Holocaust is a result of a loan of the Holocaust Wall Hangings from the collection of The Temple Museum of Religious Art, The Temple-Tifereth Israel, and 50 Faces from the collection of the Western Reserve Historical Society.
