BRISTOL, UK.- Bristol's Museums present Work, Rest & Play - National Gallery Touring Exhibition, on view through April 15, 2007. This exhibition looks at the artistic depiction of work, rest and play from the 16th century to the present. Works by Canaletto, Lowry, Manet, Monet and Gauguin show art responding to shifts in working patterns, from industrialisation to contemporary office culture.
A National Gallery Touring Exhibition in partnership with Bristol's Museums, Galleries & Archives Service and Tyne & Wear Museums. Supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, the Northern Rock Foundation and the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation.
