MIAMI, FL.- The Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum in conjunction with the School of Art & Art History at Florida International University presents a lecture by acclaimed Cuban American photographer Anthony Goicolea on Tuesday, February 20, 2007 as part of the Museum’s Latin American & Caribbean Art Lecture Series hosted by Citibank. The evening will commence with a cocktail reception at 6:00 p.m. followed by the lecture at 7:00 p.m.

Anthony Goicolea is known for his digitally manipulated photographs in which he clones his image and changes his persona to represent each of the characters in his art. His work frequently details topics such as sexuality and childhood occurrences. Goicolea studied photography and sculpture at the University of Georgia and holds an MFA in Fine Arts from the Pratt Institute. He made his début in 1999, and currently shows work with Postmasters gallery in New York . Goicolea is represented by the Luis Adelantado Gallery in Miami and his works are featured in various collections including the Sagamore Collection here in Miami . Goicolea was the recent recipient of the 2006 Cintas Foundation Fellowship in Visual Arts. The artist currently shows with Postmasters gallery in New York and is represented by the Luis Adelantado Gallery in Miami . This event is free and open to the public. It will be held place at the Citibank, South Beach Financial Center , 1685 Washington Avenue, Miami Beach , FL. A cocktail reception will be held at 6:00 pm and the lecture begins at 7:00 pm. The Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum at Florida International University is an AAM accredited university museum and Smithsonian affiliate. All museum events are free and open to the public. The Frost Art Museum is located in PC110 in the Charles Perry building, SW 107th Ave and 8th St at the Florida International University , University Park campus.
