LONDON.- RM Sotheby’s Monaco auction just got even more exciting, with a fresh round of consignments taking the total low estimate of the sale to a remarkable €87 million. More than €30 million in value has been added through just 13 cars, which include a freshly restored 1957 Porsche 550A Spyder race by Ernie McAfee, a low-mileage 1989 Ferrari F40 Berlinetta recently recommissioned by Michelotto, and a one-of-40 2024 Bugatti Bolide.

Heading the recent consignments in value terms is the 2024 Bugatti Bolide (Est: €3,500,000 - €4,500,000). One of only 40 examples made, the Bolide is the ultimate expression of Bugatti’s W16 platform and the most powerful car the company has ever produced. This lightly driven example has covered only 359 kilometres from new and left the factory with almost €300,000 of optional extras.

While many auctions feature Ferrari F40s, few match the calibre of the 1989 Ferrari F40 Berlinetta by Scaglietti (Est: €3,500,000 - €4,000,000) heading to Monaco. A perfect specification European “non-cat”, “non-adjust” model, this unmissable example has covered just 1,779 kilometres from new thanks to being in long-term storage between 1992 and 2021. It has since been subject to an comprehensive preservation-grade mechanical overhaul by model experts Michelotto. With full matching numbers and original paintwork throughout, the car has been decribed by Christiano Michelotto as “the greatest preservation F40 in the world.”

The quality only continues with a 1957 Porsche 550A Spyder by Wendler (Est: €3,500,000 - €3,800,000) that has just emerged from an exhaustive six-year restoration by marque expert Andy Prill. Now immaculately presented, the Porsche was supplied new to sportscar legend Jack McAfee and boasts incredible southern California competition history including SCCA wins at Palm Springs, Riverside, Pamona, Laguna Seca, and Phoenix.

A further five spectacular Ferraris add to an already formidable offering of Maranello greats. They include a 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 by Scaglietti (Est: €2,500,000 - €3,000,000) finished in Rosso Chiaro over Pelle Nera, a rare 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB/6C by Scaglietti (Est: €2,300,000 - €2,500,000) specified in Argento over Pelle Nera, and a four-time concours platiunum award-winning 1967 Ferrari 330 GTS by Pininfarina (Est: €1,400,000 - €1,800,000) that is one of only 99 built.

They are joined by two fascinating competition Ferraris, led by a 1990 Ferrari F40 Competition Conversion by Hamann Motorsport (Est: €2,250,000 - €2,750,000). Originally a roadgoing F40, this car was converted to race specification by Hamann Motorsport in Germany and is one of few F40s with period competition pedigree, having raced in the 1996 Global GT Series. A three-year restoration at the hands of Moto Technique was completed in 2015.

Even rarer, a one-of-three 1984 Ferrari 308 GT/M (Est: €1,500,000 - €2,000,000) is the first purpose-built race car created by the Michelotto family and the ultimate evolution of the 308 platform. A key stepping stone in the development of both the 288 GTO and F40, this model lapped Ferrari’s Fiorano test track quicker than the legendary cars it inspired.

A 2024 Mercedes-AMG ONE (Est: €2,400,000 - €2,800,000) leads a three-car offering of Stuttgart greats. One of only 275 examples of Mercedes-Benz’ halo hypercar, this factory fresh AMG Silver Arrow over Magma Grey example is offered from the care of its first and only owner, having covered only 89 kilometres since new.

Meanwhile, from the company’s back catalogue comes a 1956 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing (Est: €1,600,000 - €1,800,000), which was delivered with Rudge wheels from the factory and was intended to contest the 1957 Mille Miglia, but it reportedly never arrived to start the race. A 1963 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster (Est: €1,500,000 - €1,700,000) from the final year of production rounds out the trio. The alloy-block, disc brake example is the ultimate and most accomplished iteration of the 300 SL, made all the more enticing thanks to its factory supplied hardtop.

Book-ending this incredible selection of blue chip classics and supercars are two modern day icons. A 2022 Lamborghini Essenza SCV12 (Est: €1,200,000 - €1,800,000) represents the swansong for Lamborghini’s naturally aspirated, non-hybrid V-12 engine. One of just 40 examples built, this smartly specified car has covered just 505 kilometres from new. It is joined by a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT (Est: €2,000,000 - €2,500,000) finished in Basalt Black Metallic—one of the rarest colours in the model’s 1,270-strong production run. It has covered just 20,758 kilometres from new and has travelled just 18 kilometres since it was last serviced in April 2025.
