Hudson River Museum launches a digital guide on Bloomberg Connects
The HRM joins hundreds of cultural institutions around the globe on the free Bloomberg Connects app.

YONKERS, NY.- Today, the Hudson River Museum (HRM) announced the launch of a new digital guide on Bloomberg Connects, the free arts and culture app created by Bloomberg Philanthropies. The Bloomberg Connects app enhances on-site visits and makes the Hudson River Museum accessible for off-site visits, offering free exclusive multimedia content.

The HRM’s guide offers new insights and details about collection highlights from the nineteenth century to the present, including audio commentary from Masha Turchinsky, Anita K. Hersh Director and CEO, Laura Vookles, Chair of the Curatorial Department, and Shilpi Chandra, Assistant Curator. Key works in the collection include Red Grooms’s The Bookstore, and influential paintings by John White Alexander, Hermann Fuechsel, Fitz Henry Lane, Winfred Rembert, and more. The Museum will continue to add new exhibitions and collection items over time, allowing visitors to gain new insights with each visit.

“Bloomberg Connects transforms a museum visit into an immersive journey—bringing each gallery, artwork, and experience to life in new and meaningful ways,” said Masha Turchinsky, Anita K. Hersh Director and CEO. “At the Hudson River Museum, it invites visitors to discover the richness of art, science, and history in one place—set on a remarkable site overlooking the Hudson River, just beyond New York City—making every visit more engaging, more personal, and distinctly memorable. Bloomberg Philanthropies has been a terrific partner through the entire process of creating this new guide, and we’re eager to explore future additions to it.”

The HRM is proud to join over 1,250 museums, galleries, and cultural spaces that are now made further accessible with a variety of features, including voice over, image captions and audio transcripts, translations, image zoom, and font size adjustment, designed to remove barriers to experiencing arts and culture. At the Museum, production of the guide was led by Camille Knop, Senior Manager, Design and Content, Kathryn Jagelka, Marketing Assistant, and Samantha Hoover, Deputy Director, Engagement and Operations.

Bloomberg Connects offers free digital guides to cultural organizations around the world. The platform is part of Bloomberg Philanthropies’s longstanding commitment to supporting digital innovation in the arts. Bloomberg Connects makes it easy to access and engage with arts and culture from mobile devices when visiting in person, or anytime from anywhere. With dynamic content exclusive to each partner organization, it provides a range of features including video, audio, and text, expert commentary, and way-finding maps.

The Bloomberg Connects app is available for download from Google Play or the App Store.
