AMSTERDAM.- Kajsa Ollongren will become the new Chair of the Supervisory Board of the Rijksmuseum with effect from 1 October 2026. She succeeds Alex Wynaendts, whose eight-year term is ending.

Kajsa Ollongren will take up the position of Secretary-General of the European External Action Service (EEAS) on 1 September 2026. Since 2025, she has been the EU Special Representative for Human Rights, in which role she brings the EU’s human rights policy to global attention. From 2017 to 2024, Ollongren served as Deputy Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Minister of the Interior and Kingdom Relations and Minister of Defence. In the years prior to that, she served for the D66 party as an alderwoman and deputy mayor of Amsterdam. Ollongren has also held various positions with international organisations and initiatives.
