Tank Museum Director pens new children's book

DORSET.- Rosanna Dean, Director of Visitor Experience & Commercial, has released a new children’s book – the first in a series about popular UK attractions.

Titled Marjorie & RaaRaa at The Tank Museum, Rosanna’s new book sees a little girl named Marjorie exploring The Tank Museum alongside RaaRaa, her blue leopard friend.

The book follows the adventurous pair as they explore each part of the Museum, sightseeing and playing in interactive exhibitions.

Rosanna and her illustrator, Jem Milton, plan to publish tales of Marjorie and RaaRaa at other popular attractions, highlighting the different ways children can have fun at each one.

Initially joining as the Museum’s Events Manager in 2018, Rosanna now sits on the charity’s board of directors.

In 2024, she was recognised as an ‘Unsung Hero’ at the Dorset Tourism Awards for revolutionising the events programme and championing accessibility at The Tank Museum.

Since then, Rosanna has pioneered The Tank Museum’s partnership with Forestry England, created a wellbeing event for the Armed Forces Community, and set up the Museum’s Baby, Bump and Toddler event.

In 2024, she was recognised as an ‘Unsung Hero’ at the Dorset Tourism Awards for revolutionising the events programme and championing accessibility at The Tank Museum.

Her achievements don’t stop there. In July 2026, Rosanna sat in Parliament after her petition to improve pedestrian safety in Wimborne, Dorset caught the attention of her local MP.

You’ll also hear Rosanna on a Friday morning hosting Radio Wimborne’s Early Bird Club for families.

Rosanna said: “After visiting some of the UK’s best visitor attractions as a new mum, I felt there was a real need for children’s books that help families prepare for a special day out and provide a lasting reminder afterwards.

“I’m delighted that The Tank Museum is the first stop on this national book trail, and I can’t wait to see young visitors engaging with the story. The best part? It rhymes too, making it fun and memorable for children, and just as enjoyable for parents to read aloud.”

Marjorie & RaaRaa at The Tank Museum is available from tankmuseumshop.org.
