MONTERREY.- Audiences have just a few weeks left to experience Constellations and Drifts: Art from Latin America in the FEMSA Collection, the landmark exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Monterrey (MARCO), before it closes on August 30, 2026.

Presented to kick-off the 50th anniversary celebrations of the FEMSA Collection, Constellations and Drifts is the most comprehensive exhibition of the collection, bringing together 174 artworks by 100 Latin American artists and offering an unprecedented look at one of the most influential collections of 20th- and 21st-century contemporary Latin American art.

Organized through five curatorial themes or “constellations,” the exhibition creates dialogues across eras, geographies, and generations, revealing new perspectives on the Collection and the histories of Latin American art.

Curated by Eugenia Braniff, Paulina Bravo, and Beto Daz Surez, curators of the FEMSA Collection, and Adriana Melchor, an independent curator, the exhibition is unveiled in five constellations: Territories: The Symbolic Limits of Geography; Architectures of Colonization: Between Language and Bodies; Debating Abstraction: Geometry and Form in Latin America; Alchemy: Transformation, Transmutation, and Change; and Identities: Identities on the (Im)Possibility of a Chorus, all of which reflect the curatorial vision currently guiding the development and direction of the FEMSA Collection.

Description of image

The exhibition features works by key figures in Latin American art, including Jess Rafael Soto, Rufino Tamayo, Mara Izquierdo, Diego Rivera, Joaqun Torres-Garca, Fanny Sann, Helen Escobedo and Gego, along with recent acquisitions and contemporary artists, whose practices broaden the collection’s perspectives.

It also includes a major commissioned artwork by the Argentine artist Ad Minoliti, conceived as an active space within the exhibition. His project proposes collage as a tool for exploring the construction of identities and was activated throughout the exhibition’s run with workshops and encounters with artists, activists, and researchers.

With the exhibition closing on August 30, 2026, this is the final opportunity for audiences to view this landmark presentation of the FEMSA Collection.
