JAMAICA, NY.- Why not keep summer boredom at bay by exploring the artistic process? Queens Library invites you to beat the heat and come out of the doldrums by catching the Library’s cool new exhibit, Workspace07, on view June 25 through September 2 at the Central Library Gallery, 89-11 Merrick Boulevard, Jamaica, curated by Juliana Driever.

The show runs during all public service hours at the Gallery: Monday to Friday: 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.; Sunday 12 – 5 p.m. Admission is free; all ages are welcome. Call the Gallery at 1-718-990-8665 for more details.

Workspace07 is a group exhibition about the artistic process. Over eight weeks, eight artists will perform “residencies” in the Queens Library Gallery, working on week-long projects which will accumulate in the Gallery space over the summer. This exhibition will create an open dialog among the artists, the public and the Gallery itself, providing a unique opportunity for individual inquiry into the process of art-making and the construction of an exhibition.

Participating artists: Doug Beube, Cesar Cornejo, Heather Hart, Janelle Iglesias, Kambui Olujimi, Christopher Myers, Marc Andre Robinson, Edwina White.

Several workshops with the artists are set for Wednesdays from June 27 to August 15 from 2 - 3 PM in the Gallery.
