MUNICH, GERMANY.-HVB Kunst Palais presents Young art from Bulgaria and Romania, on view through 27 July 2007. “Real Sensations” presents current artistic contributions from Bulgaria and Romania, the most recent among the EU member states. The participating artists are Anca Benera (RO), Irina Botea (RO), Cosmin Gradinaru (RO), Ivan Moudov (BG), Kalin Serapionov (BG) and Krassimir Terziev (BG).

“Today, artists in Romania and Bulgaria are developing strategies that tackle – with sensitivity and commitment – the subject of the socio-cultural and anthropological constellations. Irony and narrative emotionality, a radical imagination and intimacy, historical references and political commitment form a matter-of-fact, unconventional and confident combination that differs considerably from the pathetic, didactic and analytical positions of the post-conceptual and private-mythological strategies. Without being irresponsible, these young artists try to develop their private micro-narrative and to put into concrete terms a modest, intimate authenticity, with which they personally identify, within the new global character of the new Pan-European culture. They are cosmopolitans, Europeans and, in particular, representatives of their micro-narratives. They are the new citizens of Europe, in a new global world.” (From: Artistic Authenticity and Pan-European Sensitivity - Comments in connection with the HypoVereinsbank Exhibition by Lóránd Hegyi, 2007). Exhibition curated by Dr. Lóránd Hegyi - Director of the Musée d'Art Moderne at St. Etienne (FR) in Cooperation with Galerie Ernst Hilger, Vienna.
