KNOCKE, BELGIUM.-The 32th International Fine Art and Antiques Fair of Scharpoord Knokke will take place between 5 and 15 August under the name Art Nocturne Knocke in the Scharpoord Cultural Centre of Knokke-Heist, the most mundane seaside resort at the Belgian coast.

The name of Art Nocturne Knocke was a conscious decision and comes from the fact that the fine art and antiques fair is open every day from 4 to 10 p.m. This formula was a great success last years. This formula allows fine arts and antique lovers the chance to take full advantage of their day and in the evening to enjoy the pleasures of the fair in an informal atmosphere.

In order to make it as pleasant as possible for visitors, the organisers have also chosen this time round for a contemporary set up, while the 50 or so participating fine arts and antiques dealers from home and abroad provide the wide diversity of items on show. This guarantees that the quality of the items on show comes under serious consideration.

Art Nocturne Knocke also has a few new specialised stands at the show. These include specialists in Asian art and art deco furniture. And the large selection of jewellery is as usual a constant feature of the fair. The London gallery Francis Kyle will present Jeroen Krabbé in première.

Each item that appears at the fair is checked out by the experts of the fair committee for quality and authenticity and they give the buyers a maximum guarantee when purchasing a valuable piece of fine art or antique.

The importance and the appeal of the international fine arts and antiques fair is guaranteed by the presence of well renowned members of the Belgian Chamber of Antiques Dealers or of the established members of the prestigious Tefaf fair in Maastricht. The international character of the fair is further enhanced by the presence of participants from all countries including among others France, the Netherlands, Germany and England.

Those who want to remain unstressed and relaxed during their visit to Art Nocturne Knocke can use the free shuttle service that runs between the largest car parks and the Scharpoord Cultural Centre where the International Fine Art and Antiques Fair is held.
