LONDON.-Leading curators present the best of young visual artists under one roof. Proving that art stars of the future are the stars of today, and featuring approximately 50 artists of the highest calibre, The Future Can Wait will be the biggest ever museum-scale privately curated exhibition for breaking artists.

The Future Can Wait was conceived by Zavier Ellis and Simon Rumley as a creative response to their extensive experience of group shows and fairs. Convinced that there is now a space for a serious, curated, large-scale show to coexist with London’s art fair week, Ellis and Rumley have selected the best of what they describe as The New London School – artists whose work deals with the human condition in painting, video and installation, underpinned by an emphasis on technical expertise.

Artists such as Jennifer Allen, Gordon Cheung, Tessa Farmer, Sam Jackson, James Jessop, Alex Gene Morrison, Gavin Nolan, Miho Sato, John Stark and Stella Vine will showcase a range of new work in the Truman Brewery’s Atlantis Gallery for what promises to be a seminal moment in the future of art history.

Opening during London’s premiere international art week, many of the artists’ works featured in the show have already been placed in respected British and international collections including those of Charles Saatchi, Anita Zabludowicz, David Roberts, and Jean Pigozzi. Featuring the art stars of the moment, the show will bring together hundreds of future collectables in one gallery space and all works will be for sale.

Ellis and Rumley have been immersed in the London artworld for the last ten years. Between them they have exhibited, collected and represented many of the city’s most exciting young artists. Ellis, director of CHARLIE SMITH london, and Rumley, director of New London Kicks, have become known for discovering some of the most vibrant young artists in London. Both Ellis and Rumley consider their primary language to be painting, but they also have an instinctive understanding of and eagerness to work with any medium, from video to performance to installation and sculpture.

The Future Can Wait will be bigger than anything of its kind that has gone before. It will also offer a contrast to the more limited context of the art fair booth system by showing a wealth of work as it was originally intended – in a spectacular, spacious environment. Featuring London-based artists for its inaugural year, The Future Can Wait will eventually take on global partners to become a primary showcase for international artists. The full list of participating artists will be announced next month.
