BOGOTA, COLOMBIA.- The Museo Nacional de Colombia presents Portraits - Libia Posada from the “Clinic Evidence” Series, on view through November 7, 2007. Libia Posada wrote: “Portrait constitutes one of the traditional art genres that is still used even in our days.

From the exploration of the subjectivity of the individual model and artist to the attempts of objectivity of some contemporary photographers, the portrait comes from a private area or a near relationship between the creator and his model. Nevertheless he aspires to public recognition to being exhibited and put in circulation in different cultural systems or museums.

Women have been one of the preferred models by artists of all times. Millions of images have been produced of a certain typo of woman or better, of certain beliefs and manners of how man sees and shows woman.
