Jersey City Museum Names First JPMorgan Chase Museum Career Intern

JERSEY CITY, NJ.- Jersey City Museum announced that it has named Angela Oh as the first JPMorgan Chase Museum Career Intern. JPMorgan Chase helped to establish the internship in 2006 by committing $50,000 in support of the program over two years.

Ms. Oh, 27, a native of Seoul, South Korea, received her Master of Arts degree from Rutgers University in 2006, and was selected from among 21 candidates for the position. Previously, she volunteered at the Samsung Museum of Art and the Ewha Women’s University Museum, in South Korea, and was an editor of Artprice, a South Korean monthly magazine.

The nine-month paid internship will provide the opportunity to gain practical training and job skills, make professional connections and address career goals, as the intern cycles through the Museum’s curatorial, education and development departments. Applicants for the internship were evaluated by a committee of museum staff who also made the final decision.

Marion Grzesiak, the Museum’s Executive Director, thanked JPMorgan Chase for their involvement, "We are thrilled to be working with Ms. Oh, and thank JPMorgan Chase for helping us inaugurate this important program. She brings a diverse perspective and excellent credentials to the position."

Etta Rudolf Denk, Vice President, Community Development Group for JPMorgan Chase, commented, "We are delighted to support the work of non-profit organizations and emerging arts professionals, especially those that focus on the work of culturally diverse artists. The JPMorgan Chase Museum Career Internship mirrors our core business principles and creates opportunities for young people to gain the practical skills that will start them on their professional careers."

The internship will run from September 2007 through May 2008.
