EDINBURGH.-The Scottish National Portrait Gallery presents Painting in Crayons: Pastel Portraits from the National Galleries of Scotland, on view through 30 September 2007. This fascinating display will include around twenty-five of the finest portraits in pastels, crayons and coloured chalks.
The selection of light-sensitive and rarely seen portraits will include works by eighteenth-century Scottish and European masters such as Allan Ramsay and Archibald Skirving. The display will also highlight later and more recent examples by Sandy Moffat and John Byrne.
