NEW YORK.-Nicholas Hall, International Director, and Ben Hall, Head of Old Master Paintings, Christies New York, say: We were delighted with the results from todays sale, with an 87% sold by value rate confirming our belief in the new International Old Masters sale calendar simply put, our clients like to buy in October. The top ten lots alone saw some remarkable results, with three of the works being purchased online utilizing Christies LIVE and a new world auction record set for Charles-Antoine Coypel. We were encouraged by the wide interest from clients in Europe, Asia and the Americas - and notably the Italian collectors turned out in force. We were also heartened by the response of those who viewed Rubens Two studies of a young man during our five-day pre-sale exhibition. The first time this majestic oil study was seen in the United States, we look forward to its sale this December in London.
