The family eleven different attitudes by Marilyn Bomarito.

LIVONIA, MI.- Sculptures in terra cotta, bronze, wood, copper, polymer clay, and other media, created by members of the Sculptors Guild of Michigan, will be displayed at Madonna Universitys Exhibition Gallery. The opening reception for Uncommon Sculptures takes place from 5 9 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 11.
Subject matter ranges from abstract shapes to realistic figures. John Wargelin of Bloomfield and Rosemary Busch of Farmington are the featured artists. They are both caring individuals who create wonderful works in wood, said Pauline Flaga, president of the Sculptors Guild of Michigan.
They have the ability to see beyond the ordinary and turn wood, in its simplest form, into a visual statement of modest elegance.
Exhibitors include Sharon Bida of Plymouth; Marilyn Bomarito of Woodhaven; Betty Coven and Sophia Myers of Troy; Eva Cushing, Bernadette Zachara-Marcos, and Marga Zieger of Farmington Hills; Earle Davis of Clarkston, Perry Diclemente of West Bloomfield; Maryellen Dohrs of Royal Oak; Pauline Flaga of Clawson; Constance Flechsig of Bloomfield, Steve Miller of Bloomfield Township; Millie Willison of Bloomfield Hills; Malcolm Powers of Ann Arbor; and Dee Trainor of Beverly Hills.
People attending this show will see diversity of mediums and presentations, said Flaga. All of these pieces are treasures and reflect many hours of planning and design. We are proud of each artist.
Free, and open to the public, the exhibition closes Saturday, Nov. 10.
