EDINBURGH.- Ten Decades - Edinburgh College of Art Centenary Exhibition is on view through January 19, 2008 at the City Art Centre. The exhibition, which is sponsored by corporate and commercial law firm Morton Fraser, includes works from esteemed alumni including Dame Elizabeth Blackadder OBE, RA; John Bellany CBE, RA; Sir William Gillies, Sir Robin Philipson, Moyna Flannigan, Wilhelmina Barns-Graham, Callum Innes, Anne Redpath, and Alan Davie, and more recent graduates including Graham Flack and Janice McNab

Professor Ian Howard, Principal of Edinburgh College of Art, said: “It is a privilege to bring together such a distinguished collection of works from the past 100 years to display a selection of the College’s extraordinary heritage and legacy.

“Ten Decades is one of the main highlights of the College’s Centenary year celebrations, which has included a platform of events for our students to display their creative skills, including the Centenary Fashion Show, Degree Show and Masters of Design Exhibition.

“We are sure that visitors will enjoy viewing works from across the decades, including rarely seen pieces from some artists’ own private collections, and works exhibited for the first time in Scotland from the Fleming Collection.”

Also on display will be current achievements of academic staff through research and art making; media tasters from the school of Visual Communication; footage of the sell-out Centenary Fashion Show; clips from the forthcoming Rockumentary – The Art School Dance – which celebrates eca student union’s musical connections (opens at the Cameo Cinema on 15 November).
