BOSTON, MA.- The Boston Globe reported today that a grand jury has been convened to talk about details surrounding the 1990 theft of thirteen pieces of art from the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. The museum cannot comment on any details of an open active investigation. However, the return of the stolen artwork remains a top priority of the Gardner Museum, and the museum is encouraged that the FBI and the US Attorney’s Office continue to view this case as a priority.

A reward of $5 million is being offered by the museum for information leading to the return of the stolen artworks. Anyone with information about the stolen artworks or the investigation – no matter how seemingly small – is encouraged to contact the museum and its Director of Security Anthony Amore directly at 617 278 5114 or theft@gardnermuseum.org. The museum can ensure complete confidentiality.

The Gardner Museum looks forward to the day that these artworks are returned to Isabella Gardner’s historic collection and to an awaiting public where they belong.
