| Artist Edward Brodney, 92, Dies |

LAKE WORTH, FLORIDA.- Artist Edward Brodney, 92, died. Brodney was assigned by the Army to paint pictures of World War II. In his works he portrayed soldiers praying, eating and playing baseball. He was to show "no blood or guts" in his paintings were reproduced and sent to newspapers in the United States. The idea was to Americans that the soldiers were safe, at least some of the time. Brodney was born on April 15, 1910. He studied at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts and at the Massachusetts College of Art. He then studied at the School of Fine Arts at Yale.
