TEMPE, AZ.- Arizona State University presents Between Seasons. Tawni Shuler, Master of Fine Arts Thesis Exhibition in Painting, Feb. 25-29. The paintings of Tawni Shuler are inspired by childhood memories of growing up in rural Wyoming and becoming familiarized with the cycles of life and death that are common on a working farm. Shuler paints slivers of accurate representations of past events, as well as imagined and embellished counterparts to redefine a singular reality. In addition to acrylic paint, Shuler also employs the use of mixed media such as shellac, dirt, hair, plant seeds, etc. and utilizes processes such as pouring, dripping, scraping, sanding, and spraying.
