The Queens Museum of Art will host Queens Arts Connection

QUEENS, NY.- On Saturday, March 22 from 1-6:30 PM, the Queens Museum of Art will host Queens Arts Connection, a free networking event for artists and cultural groups of all disciplines. A collaboration between Queens Council on the Arts (QCA), New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) and the Queens Museum of Art (QMA), the event is open to the public and provides a rare opportunity for the City’s creative minds to learn from each other and connect with experts from various artistic fields. Nineteen arts organizations based in New York City will share information about their programs, presentation spaces and funding sources. The afternoon’s activities also include an informal networking reception, a raffle and live music performances. In addition, artists will participate in portfolio reviews with QMA curatorial staff and a peer-sharing slide/video/reading slam during the event (with advance registration). Directions to the QMA have also been provided below. Dancers are invited to attend an application session for the Dance in Queens residency and to sign up for work sample reviews with Paz Tanjuaquio of Topaz Arts. Please see below for the schedule for the day and list of participating organizations.

Registration - To RSVP to attend the event or pre-register for the dancer portfolio reviews or the peer-sharing slam please email Chris Henderson at chenderson@queenscouncilarts.org. You MUST clearly indicate in your e-mail registration if you would like to participate in the dancer portfolio review or the peer-sharing slam. Please note that there are only 6 slots available for the dancer portfolio reviews (20 minutes each) and 24 slots available for participating in the slide/video/reading slam (5 minutes per artist).
