NY Art Company Supports Emerging Artists, Charity

NEW YORK.-nAscent Art New York today announced its first 2008 offering of fine art, a Tribeca event and auction slated for March 26 and 27. With the work of over 40 fine artists on offer, the event will include paintings, sculpture, mixed media, and photography, with 20% of profits going to charity.

Jennifer Baron, the 22 year-old CEO and Director of Art for the ground-breaking Manhattan art company, reviews thousands of pieces of art from hundreds of artists before settling on the artists represented by nAscent Art New York.

“nAscent supporters will recognize some of our artists from previous events, but we also have artists participating in their first nAscent event,” said Baron. “The variety of genres and media ensures that everyone will see a work that resonates with them. nAscent’s current and former artists are hanging in homes, offices, private collections, and galleries all over New York and the world.”

nAscent is committing 20% of the profits from Art On The Block 3.27.08 to Chefs for Humanity, a nonprofit alliance of culinary professionals and educators fighting hunger. Founded by celebrity chef Cat Cora, Chefs for Humanity works in partnership with U.S. and global organizations to provide nutrition education, hunger relief, and emergency and humanitarian aid across the world.

“We’re thrilled to be working with Chefs for Humanity,” said James Wallace, nAscent President and cofounder. “Jen and I consider Cat Cora is one of our favorite chefs; she is both an inspiration and a talent. Being able to support artists and share something with a socially responsible partner is part of our personal mantra. We hope everyone will come out and support the artists, our mission, and this great charity.”

Art seekers should attend the Art On The Block preview on Wednesday, March 26, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at L Gallery Studio at 104 Reade Street in Tribeca. nAscent will accept Absentee Bids before and during the preview for those who cannot attend March 27. Doors open for the final viewing at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 27. nAscent asks that guests arrive early, allowing time to register for the auction, which begins at 7:30 p.m. The Art On The Block event will feature a champagne reception, food, wine, and, in the words of Baron, “the best emerging fine art in the world.” Admission is $20.00. Limited quantities of complimentary tickets are available at www.nascentartny.com or email info@nascentartny.com.

nAscent Art New York continues to build momentum, representing over 50 global artists in New York and Philadelphia. Art On The Block 3.27.08 is nAscent’s fourth event since nAscent’s launch in May of 2007.
