MYRTLE BEACH, SC.-Two exhibits currently on view at the Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Art Museum mirror the colors and textures of spring, merging art and nature. Titled Kaleidoscope of Nature: Fabric Sculptures by Priscilla Sage and Paintings by Brian Taylor, the joint exhibit ends March 30.

Visit the Museum at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 22, for an in-depth tour of both exhibits, led by Bobbie Lawson, retired Coastal Carolina University art history professor. The event is free and open to the public.

Sage creates brilliant, organic shaped fabric sculptures that evoke a palm forest, undersea scene, earthly garden or some other natural environment. Taylor’s more conventional medium, acrylic paintings, convey in an abstract way nature’s power and mystery in an incredible array of colors.

Admission to the Museum is free at all times, but donations are welcome. The Museum is located at at 3100 South Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
