NEW YORK.- SOHO20 Chelsea Gallery is pleased to present its 14th Annual International Exhibition juried by the sculptor Chakaia Booker. This year’s Exhibit features twenty-three artists in Gallery I, and a solo show in Gallery II by the artist Jong Sun Lee who was selected as this year’s “Best of Show.”

The plurality of materials and subject matter featured in Gallery I reflect the diversity that is present in the work of contemporary artists today. The selection was made from over 370 artists who come from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures. Artists featured in Gallery I are: Ken Beckles, Douglas Bosley, Francis Domec, Joan Fitzgerald, David French, Erika Garcy, Devon Gibbs, Eileen P. Goldenberg, Martha Griffith, Robin L. Haller, Joni Younkins-Herzog, Yejin Jun, Benny Katz, Charles Pilkey, Rhett Gerard Poche, Jessica Roller, Donna Sensor, Steve Scheuring, Tina K. Stevens, Hisayasu Takashio, Jennifer Williams, and Mollie Zanoni.

Gallery II features a solo show by emerging artist Jong Sun (Jay) Lee who employs unusual materials such as: human hair, rice, and felt in order to explore the complex dynamics within human relations. Through her work, Lee further seeks to re-examine preconceived notions of gender, race, class, and power relations. Jong Sun Lee was born in Deagu, South Korea and is currently pursuing an MFA in sculpture at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). This is her first solo show in New York City.
