MONTREAL.- The Musée d’art contemporain, with the generous support of its Foundation, has achieved yet another major coup this summer by purchasing no fewer than 37 works by 24artists participating in The Québec Triennial. Taking its cue from the maxim that gave the show its title, Nothing is lost, nothing is created, everything is transformed, the Musée has literally transformed the exhibition into collective Québec heritage by acquiring a large number of the works displayed. And that’s only the beginning, since a good many of the pieces are currently on loan pending eventual gifts, while others are in the process of being purchased.

Musée Director Marc Mayer is especially proud of these acquisitions: “Not only is the museum’s Collection gaining works that have been unanimously hailed by the media, but the museum is also providing concrete proof of its commitment to Québec art.” The new additions are:

It should be recalled that The Québec Triennial brings together 38 artists and collectives, and 135 works, in one of the most ambitious exhibitions of contemporary Québec art ever and the largest exhibition in the museum’s history. This huge show, which takes up all of the museum’s galleries, runs through the summer until September 7, 2008.
