BRUSSELS.- At the occasion of the contemporary art exhibition "Corpus Delicti" at the Palace of Justice of Brussels, Avocats Sans Frontières presents Room for Justice, an exhibition about Globalization and Justice through October 31, 2008.
Room for Justice creates a unique space in a courthouse. A journey towards another universe that cannot fail to move you. A journey on which it is no longer possible to hide the facts. A journey that forces you to face unjust realities but at the same time offers hope for their resolution. Through this exhibition, seven internationally recognised photographers bear witness of the tragic dimensions of todays globalised economy. They reveal at the same time the strength of humanity in its struggle to achieve respect for law and justice. It is also a direct appeal to legal actors, and above all to lawyers, to encourage greater engagement in facilitating access to justice for all.
Participating photographers: Jiri Rezac (Czech Republic) / WWF-UK - Oil sands Canada, Raghu Rai (°Pakistan) / Magnum Photos - Bhopal - Gas Tragedy (India), Mark Gong (USA) - Poisoned (Nicaragua), Kadir Van Lohuizen (Netherlands) / NOOR Images - Niger Delta, Lara Dhondt (Belgium) / Slogan, Pieter Hugo (South Africa) / Michael Stevenson Gallery - Barristers and Solicitors of the Supreme, Court of Ghana, Marie Cécile Thijs (The Netherlands) - Portraits of legal practitioners. The exhibition was curated by Inge Henneman FotoMuseum Antwerpen (Antwerp).
