Contemporary 23 - Market Opens at Malba - Fundación Costantini

BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA.- Malba – Fundación Costantini presents today Contemporary 23 - Market, a new edition of the contemporary program dedicated to current and regional art. This edition was planned by Cristina Schiavi, that takes us to the idea of a traditional fruits and vegetables market within the museum. Participating artists include Gabriel Baggio, Elba Bairon, Nushi Muntaabski and fruit sculptor Gabriel Ferraris.

The concept came from an aerial photograph of an open air market in Peru: “It seemed interesting to me to take that to the museum space,” commented Schiavi, who in 2003 presented Taking of the Malba elevator. She adds, “ A market is by definition a place where goods and services are sold, a social interchange and a display of strong images, odors, textures and sounds.” The exhibition will be on view through November 24.
