Call Out For An International Collaborative Project

LONDON.-Participation in this project allows you to collaborate with artists, writers, thinkers and activists from opposite parts of the world where translation and the exchange of ideas from the local to the global can be explored.

As part of this exploration a worldwide collaborative project collecting responses through interchange and exchange of postcards between participants is being initiated. The transmission and retrieval of these responses will create the emergence of new narratives that will be shared and reacted upon through hybrid texts, images and concepts.

This project requires participants to respond to a question sent to them on a postcard. This postcard will be posted back to the sender attached with an image and a question of their own. This postcard will then be sent elsewhere, to another person who will then do the same. Eventually all postcards will be sent to the original place of distribution and collected as a mass piece of collaborative work.

The final collection of works will be brought together in Pop (Popular) Samiti (association) and also feature in the exhibition of the same name in London, UK in Spring 2009.

Pop Samiti art paper is an experimental open platform for people with an interest in South Asian narratives to share ideas and perspectives of being South Asian in the 21st century. http://www.popsamiti.com/

If you would like to participate or would like more information please email alidiana@gmail.com with your name and location. Although your participation does not require much of your time we ask that your commitment in sending the postcards be acted upon to keep with the fluidity of the project as it travels around the world.
