EAST LANSING, MI.- Continuing a long tradition of successful collaboration between the Department of Art & Art History and the Kresge Art Museum, the 2008 Studio Art Faculty Biennial will showcase the recent work of twenty-two studio art faculty members.
MSU's studio art faculty make significant contributions to the arts, regularly exhibiting in venues from New York City to South Korea. Collectively they have received recognition and support from Fulbright, National Endowment for the Arts, and the Pollack Krasner Foundation. Representing a broad-range of media and contemporary art approaches, the exhibition highlights the faculty's dedication to actively pursuing creative research. The public is invited to join the artists for an opening reception on Friday, November 7 from 7:00–9:00 p.m.
Within the climate of a major research-intensive university, Michigan State University faculty members are continually engaged in the search for new information and understanding. This search can be seen in the most visible of terms on a biennial basis in the Kresge Art Museum.
In conjunction with the Studio Art Faculty Biennial, faculty members teaching Art History & Visual Culture and Apparel & Textile Design will present their scholarly research in a series of lectures throughout the 2008-2009 academic year. Visit www.art.msu.edu for a complete schedule.
