NASHVILLE, TN.- A childrens wonderland of decorations, storytelling, cookie decorating, and musical performances will all be part of Season of Celebration as
Cheekwood celebrates A Storybook Christmas.
The five week celebration opens Friday, November 28 and continues through Sunday, January 4. Cheekwood is known around the region for its popular holiday decorations and family activities.
Imagine seven tall trees decorated to evoke memories of your favorite childhood story, said Jack Becker, President/CEO of Cheekwood. We are thrilled to bring this wonderland of decorations to Cheekwood for children and families to enjoy.
Each of the trees is being decorated by a designer, all in style with their storybook theme. Stories and designers include: The Night Before Christmas by ReCreations, The Nutcracker & The King of Mice by ReCreations, The Magic Toy Shop by Deborah Griffin, Why Christmas Trees Arent Perfect by Cheekwood, A Christmas Carol by Gary Lowden, The Polar Express by Nest Interiors, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas by Gaylord Opryland.
In addition to events which are regularly held on weekends, Cheekwood will also have musical concerts every Saturday and Sunday afternoon from November 29 through December 21 from 2:00 until 4:00 in the Museum of Art. A full listings of concert performers will be available in early December at cheekwood.org.
