BUENOS AIRES.- Malba Design presents today Design in Process, on view through February 2, 2009. The exhibition focuses on the different industrial design projections and productions and invites to reflect on the forms of approaching the discipline. The exhibition was curated by Anabella Rondina, adjunct professor in charge of the Industrial Design class at the FADU. The exhibition includes works by Hernán Fretto and Damián Mejías (Fretto-Mejías shop); Maximiliano Cifuni and Leandro Laurencena (Diseñaveral); and Alejo Estebecorena (HE and Estudio Rocamora).

Design in Process puts together works by five designers that share some characteristics: they belong to a generation that started their activities almost simultaneously in the economic and social crisis of 2001 and work in parallel in education and professionally within the context of the national industry.

Some of the products that are part of the exhibition were commissioned by companies and others were produced independently. Fretto-Mejías presents his Lámina chair that is part of the new furniture for the Burger King restaurants in Argentina and Chile-, as well as a series of pots made for Essen. They present for the first time a line of faucets designed for the Peirano company. Diseñaveral exhibits wooden toys and a notebook case made of carbon fibers for the EXIT Composites company. Alejo Estebecorena presents a line of shoes and socks for the Hermanos Estebecorena (HE), male clothing company.
