Nordic Watercolour Museum Presents a Selection from the Museum's Collection

SKARHAMN.- When the seasons move towards their winter rest the Nordic Watercolour Museum chooses instead to gladden the darkness with a selection from their own collections with the emphasis firmly on colour.

The exhibition Colour presents works by some twenty contemporary Nordic artists, each with an individual feeling for colour and an interest in the function of colour both as material and idea.

The collection forms an ongoing and important part of the museum’s activities, and comprises contemporary art expressed in watercolour techniques and created by artists active today in all the Nordic countries.Major purchases aremade in connection with the museum’s larger one-man exhibitions, and in the past eight years works by more than 90 different artists have been acquired.
