ST. PETERSBURG.- Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin´s sketch sold at auction for 37 million roubles ($1.15 million) at a charity auction.
The sketch features a log house in a winter setting and it was one of other works of art sold to raise money for a hospital, a church and a cancer clinic in St. Petersburg.
The BBC reported that, "It has become the most expensive painting ever sold in Russia, selling for more than the fourth version of Kazimir Malevich's Black Square which was bought by the Hermitage museum in 2004 for $1 million."
"An auction organiser said Putin had painted the picture in 20 minutes and then a professional artist filled in the details, " reported Reuters India.
