COLUMBUS, OH.- John Perkins, author of New York Times bestseller Confessions of an Economic Hit Man, will present the lecture Transforming Turmoil into a New Economy on Thursday, February 5 at 7 pm in the
Wexner Center’s Mershon Auditorium, 1871 N. High St. at 15th Ave., on the campus of The Ohio State University. A booksigning follows.
Presented in partnership with the Wexner Center and the Columbus Council on World Affairs (CCWA), this lecture will focus on the perils of our current market-based economy and the corporations that run it. Confessions of an Economic Hit Man—an insider's account of the exploitation of the developing world by what Perkins describes as a cabal of corporations, banks and the United States government—spent over 70 weeks on the New York Times' bestseller lists and is published in more than 30 languages. His followup New York Times bestseller, The Secret History of the American Empire, provides a plan for creating a better world. Perkins is founder and board member of the nonprofit organizations Dream Change and The Pachamama Alliance, and is the author of five books on indigenous cultures.
