Plains Art Museum Signs Charitable Gaming Lease with Cactus Jacks Saloon

FARGO, ND.- Plains Art Museum will begin charitable gaming operations July 1 at Cactus Jack’s Saloon in West Acres Bowl, 3402 Interstate Boulevard South. The Museum has conducted charitable gaming as the Blue Wolf Casino at the Prairie Rose Inn (formerly Expressway Inn) since 1982 and will continue there until June 30 this year.

Mark Henze, CFO of the Museum said, “I am excited about the extraordinary opportunity to partner with Cactus Jack’s Saloon. Cactus Jack’s is excited to host the Blue Wolf and they are busy with plans to create a very congenial gaming atmosphere. This new gaming destination will make excellent use of the Museum’s experience in gaming and customer service while paying close attention to the convenience and service needs of people who enjoy playing blackjack, pulltabs and the paddlewheel.”

Cactus Jack’s is located within the larger facility of West Acres Bowl which features 32 bowling lanes, the current arcade area which will be remodeled into the new Blue Wolf Casino, the Family Fun Center and the lounge. Cactus Jack’s has been operated by R & F Company, Inc. since 1992. Cactus Jack’s general manager is Adam Flynn.

Plains Art Museum will transfer its “Blue Wolf Casino” brand and operation from its current site. The relocated Blue Wolf Casino will operate eight blackjack tables, jars and a paddlewheel table. It will be open seven days per week.

Among the anticipated changes at Cactus Jack’s will be remodeling of the current arcade area into a specialized gaming area that includes lighting, music and temperature tailored to gaming patrons. Other enhancements to Cactus Jack’s full service entertainment that includes pool tables, darts, video games, TV, bowling, casual dining and drink specials are planned. All new electronics such as flat panel TVS and soft, comfortable seating are anticipated.

Proceeds from the casino will fund Museum programs, including its regional education programs. Plains Art Museum has more than 26 years of experience in charitable gaming at three establishments in Fargo: Blue Wolf Casino at the Prairie Rose Inn (formerly Expressway Inn), Big Top Bingo and King Pin Casino in The Bowler. On March 1, the Museum will expand the hours at King Pin to noon to 2 a.m. Mondays through Saturdays and from 2 to 11 p.m. Sundays.
