HUNTINGTON, NY.- The Heckscher Museum of Art announced the appointment of Holli Gersh to their Board of Trustees.

Raised in Huntington, Mrs. Holli Gersh has been married to Edward Gersh, owner of West Hills Day Camp, for 22 years. Mrs. Gersh is an artist and interior designer by trade, having attended Pratt Institute and Wilsey School of Interior Design. She and her husband are partners in E. Gersh Realty and UG Real Estate Management Company. The two have also recently been executive producers of several independent films that have been recognized at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival.

Mrs. Gersh has been affiliated with several non-profit Boards, including serving as Trustee for Les Dames De Aspen, Aspen Theatre in the Park, and Woodstock Playhouse. Most recently, she was a Trustee and later the Chairman of the Board of the Woodstock Artist Association & Museum, leading several major fundraising efforts for them including the Beaux Arts Ball, the Take a Chair Auction, the Mirror Auction, and the successful completion of a $100,000 matching gift campaign.

As an artist, Mrs. Gersh has generously donated works to various fundraisers and has had exhibitions of her work, both as a solo artist, and as part of a group of artists, in Florida, Colorado and New York. She has even co-curated an exhibition in Woodstock, NY, and maintains active memberships at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Lotos Club and the Friar’s Club (Ed Gersh), all located in Manhattan.

Mrs. Gersh’s other interests include music, theatre, travel, women’s and human rights issues, and national and local politics. She lives with her husband in Huntington Bay, and also has residences in Boca Raton, Florida, and New York City.

Mrs. Gersh’s is thrilled to be sharing her talents with The Heckscher Museum of Art as a member of their Board of Trustees. “We are extremely pleased to have a person of Holli’s skill and energy joining the Board of The Heckscher. Her knowledge and expertise will help in the continued growth and vitality of the Museum,” said Executive Director Erik H. Neil.
