Harwood Museum of Art of UNM Presents a Special Art Historical Fundraiser



TAOS, NM.-The Harwood Museum of Art of UNM presents a special Art Historical Fundraiser --- A Class in 4-Parts with Jan Janeiro beginning March 30th and continuing on Mondays through April 20th from 10-noon.

This class will focus on the Harwood’s four permanent exhibition galleries – The Brandenburg Gallery and the early Taos Artists including the Taos Society; The Ellis Clark Taos Moderns Gallery focusing on mid-century modernism; The Agnes Martin Gallery - permanently displaying seven paintings created by Martin on her return to Taos in the early 1990s; and the Hispanic Traditions Gallery with this collection of historic Santos donated by Mabel Dodge Luhan, important New Mexican furniture including pieces from Max Luna’s WPA workshop, sculptures by Patrocino Barela as well as a growing collection of contemporary retablos, bultos and rererdos.

Jan Janeiro a noted teacher and artist has presented a series of popular Art History classes for the Harwood over the past seven years and the Museum is thrilled to once again offer her expertise on the permanent collection. This program is a fundraiser with 100% of class proceeds going towards the Harwood Museum of Art’s Exhibition Fund.
