JAKARTA.- Sothebys announced that the Company has opened an office in Jakarta and appointed Deborah Iskandar as Managing Director, Indonesia Representative Office to direct the Companys operations in the country. The opening coincides with a preview of the highlights from the sale of Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings at Sothebys Hong Kong on 5 April, 2009.
Sothebys first started its business in Jakarta in 1996. The opening of the Jakarta office and the appointment of Managing Director signifies yet another strategic move of the auctioneer in Asia.
