Enjoy Drinks and Décor Under the Stars During Evening in the Garden at the Taft Museum of Art

CINCINNATI, OH.- Fabulous food, whimsical designs, and a bucolic setting combine to create the perfect spring Evening in the Garden at the Taft Museum of Art. This annual event celebrates the outstanding creative table top displays featured at the Taft’s fundraising event, Day in the Garden. Evening in the Garden is Wednesday, May 20, from 6-9 p.m.

Day in the Garden hostesses are Janice Hartman, Suzanne Lakamp, and Suzanne Arnold; Kate Greene and Mary Ann Meanwell; Jane Clarke; Kathy Guess; Tina Jackson; Vernita Henderson; Digi Scheuler; Mary Jo Will; Tari Frank and Ilene Ross; Kathy Schmitt and Mary Stewart; Gwen Roth; Sherie Marek and Barbara Weyand; Lynne Riesenberg; Courtney Newsome; Cathy Crain; Carole Rigaud; Kathy Ryan and Laura Strietmann.

Evening in the Garden is open to the public, and guests enjoy the chance to view and purchase original artworks from 14 regional artists. Katherine Hurley, Ray Kleinhelter, Diane Kruer, Carol McConnell, Robert Mullenix, Nancy Neville, Bruce Neville, José Nuñez, Pat Olding, Brenda Tarbell, Trish Weeks, and Rebecca Weller.

All the proceeds from the sale of the artworks benefit the Taft’s education programs, including Artists Reaching Classrooms and Adopt-a-School, which serve many schools throughout Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.

The cost for Evening in the Garden is $75. Reservations are required. For reservations and information, call Susan Workman at (513) 677-2081

Day in the Garden, which began in the 1990s, features spectacular table settings inspired by works in the Taft collection, popular culture, and the inventiveness of the hostesses.

Last year’s fundraising efforts raised more than $70,000 in support of the Museum’s educational outreach. The docents will commit the proceeds to programs such as scholarships for Summer Art Day Camp, Artists Reaching Classrooms, Adopt a School, and Galleries on the Go.
