Jack and Suzy Welch Discuss a Life-Transforming Approach to Decision Making at the Smithsonian

WASHINGTON, DC.- The Smithsonian Associates present a discussion with former General Electric chairman and CEO, Jack Welch, and columnist and bestselling author, Suzy Welch, Tuesday, April 21, at 7 p.m. at S. Dillon Ripley Center at 1100 Jefferson Drive S.W. Welch will discuss her transformative “10-10-10” approach to decision making, a powerful new way to make difficult decisions and clarify life choices.

Welch suggests that in today’s accelerated world of competing priorities, information overload and confounding options, many people are governed by the demands of the moment when making decisions. Through her strategy called “10-10-10,” Welch proposes a transformative solution for making decisions in which people think about what the consequences of a decision will be in 10 minutes, 10 months and 10 years. During the discussion, Welch will recount poignant stories from her own life and other “10-10-10” users to reveal how exploring the impact of decisions in different time frames reveals unconscious agendas, fears, needs and desires, ultimately helping people to identify and live according to their true goals and values.

Tickets for the Smithsonian presentation are $25 for general admission and $15 for members. For tickets and information call (202) 633-3030 or visit www.smithsonianassociates.org.

Suzy Welch, a former editor of the Harvard Business Review, is a work-life columnist for O magazine and co-author, with her husband Jack Welch, of “Winning.” Her book “10-10-10: A Life-Transforming Idea” is available for signing after the program.
