Arts Organization, 40 North / 88 West, is Looking for a Part-time Project Coordinator
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for developing and managing two programs — 40 North’s Art & Sol and Sight Specific — selecting visual and performing artists to contract with for outdoor performances and storefront exhibits.



CHAMPAIGN, IL.- 40 North | 88 West is now accepting applications for a part-time Project Coordinator position. This individual will coordinate performance and exhibit programs specific to downtown Champaign. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for developing and managing two programs — 40 North’s Art & Sol and Sight Specific — selecting visual and performing artists to contract with for outdoor performances and storefront exhibits. The Project Coordinator will be expected to perform well in a fast-paced work environment and will report to the 40 North Directors and the 40 North Board Liaison for Public Arts Programming.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, have experience in marketing, public relations, event planning and volunteer management and will possess excellent communication skills, have experience working with artists, some college education and a good sense of humor. Facility with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook) a plus.

40 North is a fun, challenging work environment with a Board of Directors and staff dedicated to cultivating creativity in Champaign County.

Responsibilities:

►Select and coordinate performing and visual artists for both Art & Sol and Sight Specific

►Communicate with area businesses

►Serve on the “Happy Tuesday” committee of the Champaign Downtown Association

►Coordinate sound and lighting needs for outdoor performances

►Coordinate publicity and marketing for both programs

►Coordinate evening-of activities and maintain an information booth at the site

►Manage volunteers

►Plan opening receptions for Sight Specific program

Flexible hours, though must be available to work some evenings. This position and the aforementioned programs are supported by a grant from the City of Champaign.
