SAN JOSE, CA.- The San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) is pleased to announce its upcoming Annual Fall Art Exhibition and Auction. Now in its 29th year, the comprehensive exhibition of more than 100 art works by some of the hottest artists in the Bay Area opens with a special member-only exhibition preview from 5pm to 6pm on Friday, October 2nd. A public reception is scheduled from 6pm to late during the popular South First Friday Gallery Walk in downtown San Jose's SoFA arts and entertainment district.

The exhibition culminates with a live auction of spirited bidding on Saturday, October 24th; doors open at 6pm and auction bidding begins promptly at 7pm. An image gallery of the auction artwork is now available online and will be updated regularly.

This long-standing Bay Area art event provides a unique opportunity to art lovers and collectors who are looking for world-class artwork created by the region's most established artists and its rising stars whose work reflect the scope of the Bay Area's vibrant and eclectic styles and interest. Auction goers can bid on a range of work including paintings, photographs, mixed media and installation pieces, and sculpture.

All proceeds from the auction support the ICA's innovative exhibitions and educational programming.

Accompanying the evening of lively and competitive bidding are complimentary champagne, wine and savory hors d'oeuvres donated by some of the area's finest restaurants. Auction tickets are $40 if purchased before October 24th. Tickets purchased at the door are $50 each. Call 408.283.8155 or email lis@sjica.org for ticket reservations.

The ICA will extend its gallery hours during the exhibition run as follows: Monday through Thursday, 10am-5pm; Friday, 10am-8pm; and Saturday, Noon to 5pm. Admission to the exhibition is free.
