Art2003 London Art Fair Opens in London

LONDON, ENGLAND.- ART2003 the 15th London Art Fair will run at the Business Design Centre, London, from 15 - 19 January 2003. Featuring one hundred of the UK’s top contemporary galleries, the London Art Fair represents a unique overview of the British art market. Exhibitors are rigorously selected by an independent advisory panel to ensure the quality of the works on show, which cover the full range of paintings, drawings, sculpture, photography and prints.

The Charity Preview Evening on 14 January will benefit the National Art Collections Fund (Art Fund) the UK’s leading independent art charity. The Art Fund has, since 1903, supported some 450,000 acquisitions by public collections throughout the UK. Funded entirely by its members and from donations, it will celebrate its centenary in 2003. Lucy McNeill, Fair Director, comments: ‘We have witnessed an enormous growth in the interest in art and collecting since the Fair began 15 years ago. We were delighted by the success of last year’s fair, which had sales estimated at £12 million, and a visitor attendance of 38,000 in five days. ART2003 will have a particularly strong British focus, building on the Fair’s established reputation as London’s largest and most important art fair. We are proud to support the Art Fund during its centenary year as part of our 15th anniversary celebrations.”
