To launch LAXARTs five-year anniversary, international artist Piero Golia will install his first public project in Los Angeles. On the roof of The Standard, Hollywood on Sunset Boulevard, both pedestrian and vehicular traffic can view Luminous Sphere On Top of The Standard Hotel - a site specific sculpture produced by LA>
Piero Golia was born 1974, Naples, Italy; lives and works in Los Angeles and Naples. Golia's interdisciplinary work has been exhibited at Bortolami, New York; Galleria Fonti, Naples; and Cosmic Galerie, Paris. He has also participated in group exhibitions at the Sculpture Center, New York; the Serpentine Gallery, London; and the Astrup Fearnley Museum of Modern Art, Oslo. In 2004 his first feature film, Killer Shrimps, was premiered at the Venice Film Festival and is one of the founders of the Mountain School of Arts in Los Angeles.
