NEW YORK, NY.- With the triumphant Grand Opening of its Park Avenue offices in New York, and a very successful inaugural Illustration Art Auction under its belt in October,
Heritage Auctions will hold a suite of five auctions American Indian Art, Vintage & Contemporary Photography, Timepieces, Lalique, Art Glass, & Perfume Bottles and Pre-Columbian Art Friday through Sunday, Dec. 3-5, at the Fletcher-Sinclair Mansion (Ukrainian Institute), 2 East 79th Street at 5th Avenue. During this time, New York clients will also be able to preview lots in Heritages Jewelry and Luxury Accessories Auction, taking place the following week in Dallas, on Monday, Dec. 13.
This series of auctions will give New Yorkers a good sampling, across three full days, of just some of what Heritage has to offer, said Greg Rohan, President of Heritage Auctions. These sales, and the special preview, represent the eclectic range of quality material in popular categories that have helped make Heritage Americas fastestgrowing auction house. If early indications are right, collectors are very excited about this additional opportunity to view the auction offerings and participate in our live auctions.
Lot Viewing hours are Thursday, Dec. 2, from noon to 8 p.m., and Friday Dec. 3 through Sunday, Dec. 5, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a special reception the evening of Dec. 2, taking place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Heritages Signature® American Indian Art Auction kicks things off on Friday, Dec. 3, at 10 a.m., with a cross-sampling of American Indian Art from cultures across the American South and Southwest. Highlights include a Sioux Pictorial Beaded Hide Vest. c. 1890; a Menominee Beaded Otter Skin Medicine Pouch, c. 1880; a Santee Sioux Pictorial Beaded and Fringed Hide Jacket, c. 1890; a Hopi Silver and Stone Bracelet by Charles Loloma, c. 1975 and a Sioux Beaded Hide Tobacco Bag.
Later in the day on Dec. 3, the Signature® Vintage and Contemporary Photography Auction takes the floor at the Fletcher-Sinclair Mansion at 3 p.m., featuring selections from the biggest names across the history of photography. Highlights include examples from such luminaries as Harold Edgerton, Lee Friedlander, Garry Winogrand, Sandy Skoglund, Eliot Porter, Ernst Haas, Annie Leibovitz, O. Winston Link and Ansel Adams, among the many.

The second part of the day on Saturday, beginning at 3 p.m., Heritages Signature® Lalique, Art Glass, and Perfume Bottles Auction will begin, continuing a new tradition of Art Glass auctions begun in December 2009 in New York for one of Heritages most elegant venues. Highlights includea a virtuoso Jeanne DArc overlay vase, several rare Rain vases, a monumental vase by Daum, an unusual artistic early Gallé vase in bright green glass and the art of Rene Lalique, represented in more than two hundred lots.
Heritages inaugural Signature® Pre-Columbian Art Auction closes the weekend of activity on Sunday, Dec. 5, at 1 p.m., giving collectors the first chance to view and purchase some 400 fascinating and beautiful artifacts from American cultures which flourished for centuries before the arrival of Columbus. Highlights include a finely detailed 3 gold figure statue of a shamanic figure, Quimbaya culture, Colombia, c. 500 BC 600 AD; a marvelous example of a large ceramic dog, a classic form from Colima, Mexico, c. 200 BC 200 AD; a fine Maya painted cylinder vase featuring a richly appointed seated ruler and three knelling supplicants, ht 6.75, circa 600 800 AD and a hacha in the form of an armadillo, Veracruz culture, Mexico, c. 600 900 AD.
Also on view the entire weekend will be lots from Heritages upcoming Signature® Auction of Fine Jewelry and Luxury Accessories, including Handbags, which will be held Monday, Dec. 13 in Dallas. This will be the debut auction for the latter category, recently launched with the fall appointment of Matt Rubinger as director.
