Frills - Kezia Geddes at CCASM |

|
MANUKA, AUSTRALIA.- The Canberra Contemporary Art Space Manuka presents “Frills - Kezia Geddes,” on view through April 13, 2003. In her first solo exhibition Kezia Geddes takes a humorous approach to her work using the latest in fashion as the subject. The world of fashion is openly fickle and frivolous making it an unlikely theme for the serious business of painting. Fashion is visually rich and constantly being reinvented; it is a fascinating and inexhaustible subject. The work aims to alert us to the similarities between painting and fashion whilst also highlighting the differences between the two mediums. The artist’s interest in construction, previously applied to the subject of landscape, is continued in this series of experimental paintings. Kezia Geddes is a recent graduate from the Canberra School of Art, Painting Workshop.
