NEW YORK, NY.- Priska C. Juschka Fine Art presents Silver Bullet, a group exhibition conceived by Dannielle Tegeder, comprised of a group of international artists. The show ranges from historic pieces of art from the 1950’s to work created in the present year. The title, while referring to materials that include mirrors, metal, and silver paint, also articulates the metaphor of the "silver bullet" as a straightforward solution. The exhibition tests the myth that one can solve a complex problem with a single shot.

The organizer and artist, Dannielle Tegeder, defines the exhibition as a collective of eight artists linked by their own formal or conceptual handling of silver. An artist may explore the reflective element of silver – creating a philosophical perspective or a context of illusion – or the rigid conceptual idea of silver as a commodity.

At first sight, the works connect in aesthetic and visual tonality, evoking a simultaneously seductive and destructive bent. This is further perpetuated in the legend of the silver bullet being the only effective tool for slaying werewolves, witches, and other fiends, or metaphorically the slaying of the art world.

All together, Silver Bullet reflects on the certainties we project about the art we see, and on the fictions that exhibitions mirror back at us.

The artwork will be available for purchase at a set base amount and will subsequently fluctuate in accordance with daily changes in the value of silver.

Arne Arnejorg was born in 1953 in Norway. He received his MFA from The International School of Art in Norway and currently lives in Berlin. Arnejorg has been the recipient of numerous awards, including ArtEurope, SMART, and Mission Utopia. In 2015, his work will be shown in the Gwangju Biennale.

Richard Coleman was born in 1951 in Birmingham, UK and currently lives in London. He received his MFA from The Fine Arts University of East London and is represented by Ota Contemporary Gallery in Japan and Slade Gallery in London. Coleman’s works have been exhibited at The Center for Book Arts, London; The International Museum of Contemporary Art, Essex; and the Melbourne Museum of Art, Australia.

Jesse Hayes was born in 1981 in St. Paul, Minnesota and currently lives in Nashville, Tennessee. He received his MFA from The Memphis School of Art and Design in 2006. Hayes’ works have been exhibited at The Center for Fine Arts, Kansas City, MO; The Sculpture Museum, New York; and the 30th Kunst Biennale, Berlin, Germany.

Vo Nyuyan Thu was born in 1973 in Hanoi, Vietnam and currently lives in New York, NY. In 1996, she received her MFA from Hung Yen University, Hanoi and in 2002 she took part in The Hanoi Contemporary Art Center Independent Study Program. She is represented by Ghost Ship Gallery in Chicago and M&M Gallery in Los Angeles, CA.

Nadia Lovinescu was born in 1938 in Sighişoara, Romania and died in 1999. She was Professor of Fine Arts at The New School of Fine Arts, at Cluj-Napoca. Her work has been shown at the Contemporary Poetry Museum, Venice; The Museum of Drawing/Musee de Dessin in Paris; and Museum der Kunst in Berlin. In 1999, Lovinescu received The Sovereign Romanian Art Prize. Her estate is represented by AM Gallery & House in London, FA Projects in Romania, and Galley 22 in New York.

Pierre Denis Moreau was born in 1961 in Paris. His work is represented by Contemporary Galerie 303 in Paris and The Bank in Los Angeles. Denis Moreau’s work will be shown in the forthcoming 23rd Prague Biennale and the 42nd International Contemporary Art Center, Hamburg.

Kati Schenk was born in 1979 in Berlin. Her work has been shown at The Museum of Conceptual Studies, Los Angeles; and The Museum of Contemporary Ideas in Rome. In 2009 Schenk was awarded the Folkwang Artist Grant. She currently lives and works in Munich as Assistant Professor at The Academy of Art and Design.

Dannielle Tegeder was born in 1976 in Peekskill, NY and currently lives and works in New York, NY. She received her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She has exhibited works at P.S.1/MoMA, NY; the New Museum, NY; and the Weatherspoon Art Museum, Greensboro, NC. Tegeder is the recipient of awards including the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant, the Fulbright Scholar Grant and the Marie Walsh Sharpe Studio Fellowship. Her works are in numerous collections including the Museum of Modern Art, New York, NY.
